The Engineer-In-Training (E.I.T.) will report to the Construction Services Director and assist the Project Management team. The requirements and expectations include, but are not limited to, the following:

• BS in Civil Engineering with an emphasis on Transportation or Construction Management
• 0-2 Years’ Experience
• Ability and willingness to learn, understand, and enforce Roadway Design Plans, TxDOT standards and specifications, Roadway Construction Contracts, and Policies and Procedures
• Ability and willingness to perform various contract administrative tasks, record, log, and track project issues, project schedules, and material quantities
• Ability and willingness to work in an office or a project specific field office location
• Ability and willingness to work outside and perform various construction inspection activities
• Ability and willingness to be in a multi-disciplinary rotation program to gain experience in Roadway Design, Subsurface Utility Engineering, and Survey to help develop the knowledge base to become a future leader in Roadway Construction Engineering & Inspection
• Ability and willingness to work odd hours associated with construction contractors’ schedules
